Wealthy Affiliate

The story goes back to when two young Canadian guys, Kyle and Carson, came together to develop a keyword research website that would help affiliates build successful Pay Per Click (PPC) campaigns.

Pay Per Click simply means paying for people to visit your website. It turned out to be a huge success but then there was a demand for more tools like training, web hosting, and networking.

If you’ve been on the internet long enough, no doubt you know how cumbersome things were back in the day. Building a website was no easy task. You had to learn coding even for simple things like creating a button. As the years rolled on and online systems got more user-friendly and more integrated, so did Wealthy Affiliate.

From its humble beginnings, the WA education platform has grown to become an all-around community-based online business training platform. Of course, things are very different from what they were back then. Building a website now just takes a couple of minutes to get the basic draft together.

What do they do at Wealthy Affiliate?
The simple answer to that would be, as the name somehow suggests, they teach affiliate marketing.

Affiliate marketing is the process where you (the affiliate) promotes a product or service from a merchant and in the process, you earn a commission when a customer buys it based on your recommendation.

From the time you choose a product to promote it, to earn a commission, there is a learning curve involved and this is where the WA training comes in. Within the members’ area, you get easy-to-follow lessons (Audio, video, and weekly live webinars) that take you through the entire training process. There is even a live chat system where you can get answers to your questions on the go.

Have you ever bought anything online either from eBay, Amazon, or some other online retail store? The first thing most people do is a Google search to learn all there is to know about the product that they are after? 81% of online shoppers research their products online before making a purchasing decision.
Businesses understand this and so they are quite happy to offer to promote their products. An “affiliate program” or “associate program in the case of Amazon” (the “affiliate”) for links from your site to their site.

As an example, I did a review of a product called the Bully Eyes cell phone camera lens attachment. It’s a simple lens that you attach to your smartphone camera lens which enables you to take shots that are beyond your smartphone lens ability.

I bought the lens because I needed a product that would help me take great pictures for my design work without spending a fortune on an expensive camera. Most smartphone cameras are just as good as digital cameras but there are still limitations. This tiny lens helps you capture wide-angle shots and can magnify tiny objects up to 10 times.
