Where, in your opinion, are some of the good shopping places and markets to go to? There are so many shopping places, but if I had to choose mid-range ones, they would have to be the Far East shopping centre in Orchard road; they offer a wide variety at reasonable prices and Bugis Street; a popular teenage shopping hunt for great bargains. For those seeking luxury shopping, ION at Orchard road has a wide range of international brands and contains quite a few flagship stores. Oh, the Flyer and *scape flea market are also good places to go for bargains, and for those electronic fans, Funan IT mall and Sim Lim Square are must-visits.
What Are Some of the Outdoor Activities That Travellers Can Do?
The weather is great for some outdoor action. They can go rock-climbing at Climb Asia located at Farrer Park, cycling at East Coast Park or kite-flying at Marina Barrage or East Coast Park. For beach lovers, there is the ever-popular sun-tanning or beach volleyball at Sentosa. Of course, kayaking or canoeing at Kallang Sea Sports Club or East Coast Park is great sports activity too!

Playnation at Prinsep Street is an awesome place for wi-fans or Xbox fans. They offer private rooms for big groups who want to have an afternoon of Raving Rabbits. Settlers cafe at Management University is also great for friends to kill an afternoon with board games. They have such a wide range of games that it’s impossible to remember them all! The pubs along Clarke Quay are good for chilling out. Of course, I like people-watching and chilling over a cup of coffee at Starbucks Bugis. IKEA is great just for the number of things and parts you can find.

Pack clothes that are for summer; have never-ending summers. Also, prepare to wear slippers. Take the train during off-peak hours. And those little tissue packets that lay lying around on seats during lunch or dinner time? They are not early Christmas presents; people actually reserve seats here using methods like that. So just take note of that. Also, it will not hurt to understand some Singlish, especially if you want to order food at a hawker centre, which is a must-do.
If You Had to Choose a Favourite Local Dish, What Would It Be?
Soya beancurdIt’s simply impossible to choose just one, so I’ll go against the rules a little and pick a few. The Hainanese chicken rice, of course, is at the top of my list. The Rochor Original Beancurd at the short street is simply the best in. Peanut pancakes, known as min Jiang key here, are awesome snacks as well. Then there is Katong laksa, a must-try for anyone coming. The fragrance and taste of Nasi lemak make it one of my many favourites as well. Lastly, not forgetting the barbeque chicken wings at Chomp Chomp!
