10 Tips on What To Pack for a Cruise

If it is your first time going on a cruise, chances are you will be wondering what you should take along and what you should leave behind. To avoid having unnecessary luggage because you do get a chance to stop off at different ports and do some shopping, here are some tips on your cruise packing list when on a Mediterranean cruise.

Tip 1: The one thing to note about being on a cruise is that the weather will be quite warm. Thus, depending on how long you will be on the cruise ship, you could suffice with a couple of bottoms and a wide selection of tops. Switching up the different tops with the bottoms will make you seem like you have ample outfits.

Tips 2: For women, you should try and scale down on the makeup. You do not need to carry all the makeup that you own or in your cruise packing list. Most of the day will be spent sun bathing or visiting tourist spots. Carry a small make up bag that will do when you dress up for dinner.

Tip 3: Take note of the fabrics of the clothes that you are carrying. If you will be on a budget, steer clear of clothes that will need to be dry cleaned as you will have to pay for these services. Instead, carry clothes that can easily be hand washed if need be.

Tip 4: You might want to think of extra storage space for your cruise packing list depending on the size of your cabin. If you will be in a small cabin, carry bags that come with compartments so you can store items such as your toiletries and shoes with ease.

Tip 5: You will find that typically most cruise lines will not allow you to carry a travel iron. In the event that you do and it is prohibited, they will keep the iron for you until the cruise is over. Instead, you could pack a portable steamer if you are worried about creasing.

Tip 6: Pack some air freshener. It can become quite stuffy in the cabins and this is something most first time travelers do not know. This will keep your cabin fresh.

Tip 7: Typically, on a cruise ship, you will not be allowed to carry your own alcohol. This is because alcohol is already provided for on board. Thus, if you were thinking of carrying several bottles of wine in your cruise packing list, desist and instead get them on board.

Tip 8: Carry a waterproof bag. At the end of the day, you will spend most of your time at sea since you are on a cruise. You never know what may happen so to be on the safe side, have a water proof bag that you can store all your important documentation such as passports, ID cards, and even money.

Tip 9: Add some duct tape to your cruise packing list. You never know when this may come in handy so it is always better to be safe than sorry.

Tip 10: Carry your business cards. Networking while you are on one of these cruises is always a great way to meet people that you could do business with.

There are numerous other things that you could end up carrying and not use throughout your cruise. So, always ensure that you have use for everything that you pack.
