Admittedly it is all very subjective – but there are a few airlines across the world that tend to stand out from the rest. Generally, they do so because they provide a level of service and comfort that is a class apart from the rest – and makes flying a genuine pleasure. That is really what makes the most difference, especially on long-haul international flights where you literally have nothing to do except rely on the service of the cabin crew and in-flight entertainment to make passing the time easier on yourself.
And in This Regard, Some Airlines Definitely Distinguish Themselves.
If you fly regularly, you’ll probably develop a preference for a certain airline or other – but until you do, these airlines are definitely worth checking out:
- Singapore Airlines – Consistently rated among the top in the world for service and comfort, Singapore Airlines tops off that with delicious food too. Of course, the one downside is that it mostly plies international routes and generally requires stopovers at Singapore, but that is to be expected.
- Emirates Air – Yet another top performer, Emirates Air has long been renowned for its luxury, especially in Business and First Class. The economy might not be as lush as you desire, but the service is still top-notch!
- Cathay Pacific – In spite of its slightly outdated aircraft, this Hong Kong-based airline is known worldwide for its cabin crew’s caring attitude to all their passengers, especially the children.
- Virgin Atlantic Airways – Service is this airline’s middle name, and it delivers everything you would expect from the time you check in right up till you depart at your destination. Sleek and sophisticated, Virgin has made a name for itself by being the airline that tries to do everything perfectly, and pretty much succeeds!
Right now, these are without a doubt the top airlines in the world. There are others that can come close to matching them – such as Qatar Airlines, Qantas, Thai Airlines, British Airways, Lufthansa, and All Nippon Airways (ANA).
If you’re looking for exquisite comfort, however – you need to fly Business or First Class. Some airlines (such as Virgin) offer a Premium Economy that will give you slightly more legroom, but at the end of the day, it is in the front row that most of the world’s top airlines really set themselves apart from the rest.
All things said and done – if you want a flight that is a pleasurable experience, it is worth splashing out the extra cash for premium service. Some of these airlines even offer an in-flight bar, massages, and so on just to make sure that your trip is a delight!
