Men and women have been trying to dye their grey hairs for decades. In an interesting twist, younger women and men – who colour their hair- will be experimenting with grey shades this year. The grey shades to try are matte grey or a shimmering silver grey. Again, it will take confidence and charisma for the part of the younger lot to sport this shock-value hair colour.
Reverse Colour Flips
This trend is unlike the normal way of colouring hair ends. In this trend, the hair ends will get dipped or splashed with colours all right, but keeping natural hair colour for the hair tips and festive or crazy colours for the rest of the hair. Women with brown hair can leave the ends as it is and colour the hair shaft and the roots with shades like blue and purple. Blondes on the other hand can use one of the many dark shades for the rest of the hair retaining the natural blonde colour on the tips.
The crazy colour shades that can be tried are denim blue, orange or fluorescent ones Reverse Ombre Ombre hair or hair that is coloured in two different shades, a light shade on the top part of the hair and a dark shade at the bottom of the hair shaft, will continue to be trendy this year. But, a new trend or a variation called the reverse ombre will become equally popular. The reserve ombre look can be achieved by keeping a light shade of hair colour at the roots and shaft and doing up the bottom hair or the hair ends in a dark shade to get a light-dark shaded look.
Coloured Streaks Or Dipped Ends
This is a cool, trendy way to play with hair colour. This colour technique utilises the ombre look with a slight variation. Here the long part of the hair is given a dark or pastel hair colouring and the ends are dipped in a variety of light and dark shades. You can use colours like red or purple for the long hair section and dip the ends in a couple of light and dark shades. You can dye your bangs or fringes to get a shocking, dramatic look.
Rainbow Streaks
This trend will continue its popular run in 2013. In this hair trend, either natural or coloured hair is given highlights or streaks in different colour shades. The combination of hair colour and streaks can be something like red hair with green, blue and yellow streaks or highlights placed throughout the hair or placed randomly. Other colours streaks to try include pink, sherbet or white hues. This trend is for those who want to make a statement with their hair and looks.
Hidden Colour With Hair Veil
This is a new hair colour trend for 2013. In the veiling technique, hair is coloured in such a way that it remains hidden until you flip a section of your hair. You can use a standard colour on many such hidden hair sections or a couple of dark, light, pastel, or dark-light combo shades of colour to give your hair a multi-hue effect. This effect is quite easy to achieve. Women with blonde hair can use this hiding panel technique to create an asymmetrical hair colour effect. Women with brown or black hair can use light or even bolder shades to create the veiling effect.
